ALEXIS COOPER
STAFF ACCOUNTANT
With a passion for problem solving and “connecting the dots”, Alexis enjoys continual learning and the ability to apply her acquired knowledge towards everyday tasks. However, Alexis had not originally settled on the accounting field prior to attending college. In fact, she had initially taken all the requirements to enter the nursing program before switching to accounting. “I always enjoyed math in school so I completely switched my education plan to accounting,” Alexis confesses.
Prior to joining the Mengali team, Alexis worked at Gourmet Mushrooms in an accounts receivable position; her first accounting job out of school. She then took an accounts payable position at Vintners Resort during the daytime while also working a graveyard shift at a different hotel in a front desk personnel position. Working 16-hours days, she held these positions together for a year and a half until accepting a position with Mengali Accountancy. Alexis affirms, “After working exclusively with AR and then AP, I am very happy with the full accounting scope Mengali Accountancy has to offer.”
Alexis confirms the most rewarding attribute since working at Mengali Accountancy has been “being surrounded with intelligent peers who I continuously seek advice and answers from.” And maintains, “My first impression of Mengali was the high level of professionalism. My perspective has expanded to realize that it has a family feel to its operations, which I appreciate.”
Alexis graduated from Empire College in 2015 with a Specialized Associates Degree in Accounting with Presidents Honors. Additionally, Alexis is a Certified Bookkeeper and holds a certification in payroll processing.
THE REAL ALEXIS
Alexis is an authentic Sonoma County native. Originally raised in Windsor, Alexis moved to
Santa Rosa as an adult, where she resides to this day.
On a typical weekend, you will most likely find Alexis at her children’s practices
or games. “They keep me very busy!” she admits, adding “My boys play football
year-round and my daughter is gymnast and cheerleader.” With an athletic
background of her own, Alexis grew up playing competitive softball and
was also a competitive gymnast until the age of 15. “I am very
competitive despite my quiet nature”, she confesses.
When Alexis isn’t busy traveling between fields and gyms, she enjoys
spending time at home cooking and baking. “All of the kids help in the
kitchen,” she affirms, “Our family works more like a team.” Alexis goes on to
confirm her true adoration for being a mother, “I enjoy watching my kids
grow and come into their own lights. My kids and I are very closely bonded
so I really do spend a crazy amount of my time revolved around them.”
If Alexis manages to arrange some kid-free time, you might catch her taking
advantage of the local region’s wine tasting.
Alexis is also very passionate about non-profits, specifically the YWCA, that focus
on helping woman and children with their resources. She plans on becoming a volunteer as soon as time permits.
