SENIOR REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTANT

Jocelyn Deatherage joined Mengali Accountancy in the summer of 2021. Her 20+ year accounting career has literally taken her all over the globe including over 12 years in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There she really honed her expertise in property accounting. Ultimately, she landed in Texas where her career continued to progress as an Accounting Manager with a Commercial Real Estate Services firm.
Jocelyn then began looking for a remote opportunity which led her to Mengali Accountancy. Her extensive experience in commercial real estate and her excellent software skills made Mengali a great match for Jocelyn. She knew she found her niche during her first meeting with Renee Mengali which “blew me away!”. Her initial impression was further confirmed when “everyone was so helpful and responsive.”
Jocelyn is passionate about everything she does. Her attention to detail “ensuring the accuracy and qualify of my financial reports” is her top priority. She builds a level of trust with her clients so that they feel supported and that they are being
provided with excellent client service. Jocelyn is a numbers “guru” who loves analyzing numbers such as budget variances, preparing reconciliations, reviewing GL balances, and identifying potential errors.
She graduated with a BS in Accountancy from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and is also a licensed CPA in the Philippines.
THE REAL JOCELYN
Jocelyn is originally from Manila, Philippines where she was born and raised. After being encouraged
by her family to become an accountant, Jocelyn received her CPA in the Philippines. That allowed
her to travel globally to many far away and beautiful locations. In addition to working in Dubai and
Abu Dhabi, Jocelyn has also traveled to Australia, France, Greece, the United Kingdom, and
many places throughout the United States.
In addition to her love of travel, Jocelyn loves interior decorating. On any given weekend,
you can find her shopping the antique stores for her latest find. She always has an eye out for
vintage frames, crocks, and candle holders, just to name a few. Being remote, it’s important to
Jocelyn that her home feels “warm, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing” for her, her husband, and
their adopted puppies, Zoe and Bella. She’s particularly proud of her seasonal decors for Fall and
Christmas. It reminds her of the great memories she has growing up in the Philippines.
Interestingly enough, Jocelyn is also a huge Roger Federer fan and she’s hopeful to
watch him play at the US Open or Wimbledon, at some point!
