Keith Hollander entered the accounting field for his interest in business, “Accounting is the universal language of business; no matter the nature or size of your business,” he says.
Keith joined Mengali Accountancy in 2014 bringing with him a diverse background working in various industries but with the consistent focus of “learning from my colleagues and gaining as much knowledge in the accounting field as possible in order to best serve our clients, while defining the career path I want to follow in the accounting profession,” he explains. Keith’s previous positions include serving as the Operations Manager at Ski Butlers as well as the Accounting Clerk at VIP PetCare, both located in Colorado.
Keith’s attention to detail helps clients get the information they need in a timely manner, stating, “The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help my co-workers solve problems and in turn help our clients make informed business decisions that will help everyone succeed.”
Keith earned his BS in Accounting with 150 credits from Bloomsburg University in
Pennsylvania and later received his CPA license in December 2014. Keith was also a recipient of the North Bay Business Journal Forty Under 40 award in 2017.
THE REAL KEITH
For Keith, all it took was a map, a river, and some good wine to convince the Pennsylvania native
to head out to Sonoma County. Keith explains, “My wife and I ended up in Sonoma County by
looking at a map and picking a spot where a river met the ocean.” Originally from Bucks County, PA,
Keith decided he wanted to explore different lifestyles and new experiences. On his journey west,
Keith met his wife Madison in Colorado. After a couple of years in the Rockies, they became
inspired to explore the lifestyle and different opportunities Sonoma County had to
When Keith is not behind his desk, you can find him anywhere outdoors spending
time and staying active with his wife and their two children. “We like to explore and
camp anywhere new and preferably remote with some type of water feature;
whether that be a lake, river, creek, or ocean. The mountains and road trips also
hold a special place in my adventurous heart,” Keith states.
You may be surprised to learn that Keith has a true passion for gardening, with a
focus to be a successful year-round gardener. Keith reveals, “I want to learn more
about herbs and a dream of mine is to grow and dry my own spices.” Moreover,
Keith knows how to put those spices to use, by making his own hot sauces and
vegetable juice. “Hot sauce is my favorite condiment and every fall I enjoy
harvesting my garden and experimenting with hot sauce recipes.”
