REAL ESTATE ACCOUNTANT
Matt Blanchard was first drawn into the accounting profession because, “I have always had a logical mind and a love of numbers.” After working as a financial analyst at Trinchero Family Estate Winery, Matt joined the Mengali Accountancy team, bringing with him over 8 years of accounting experience.
“My first impression of Mengali was I immediately noticed the professionalism and that the people genuinely care about each other,” he states. As Real Estate Accountant, Matt loves being challenged and learning new things every day with the properties he oversees. He shares a candid nature to treat his work as if it were his own company. Matt also enjoys problem solving and can troubleshoot most anything in Excel; a true specialty of his.
Graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Matt holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business with concentrations in Accounting and a minor in Economics.
THE REAL MATT
Matt is originally from Rohnert Park, CA but moved with his wife, Kelly, to her hometown of
Healdsburg. Before moving to Healdsburg, Matt considered himself a pretty big “meat & potatoes”
guy (which he still is at heart) but he has since developed into a pretty serious “foodie” stating,
“I love IPAs, the local restaurants we have here in Healdsburg, and love to try all sorts of ethnic
Taking advantage of Northern California living, one of Matt’s favorite ways to spend a
weekend is working on his Healdsburg home and spending quality time with his wife, their
daughter, and their families. “It's nice being so close to my folks still!” He admits and adds,
“I am loyal to a fault and would do anything for my family.”
Matt also enjoys watching baseball, football, and basketball (go Giants, Niners & Warriors!).
With fitness as an exceptionally large part of his lifestyle, you can often find Matt cycling on the
country roads of Alexander Valley, going for a run up one of his favorite trails at Annadel State
Park, or coaching cross-country at Healdsburg High School with his wife.
Matt is very passionate about volunteering and working with the kids at Healdsburg High School
revealing that coaching is something that gives him purpose. “I get to be a part of something larger than just their running experience. My wife and I help shape them individually by assisting them with realistic goal setting and developing characteristics that will help them not just athletically but also personally and professionally.”
You might be surprised to find out that Matt met his wife when he was just 15 through high school running. He continued his running career through all four years in college after earning a scholarship to a D1 school for Track & Cross Country. Matt plans to train and qualify for the Ironman in Hawaii, one of these days.
Additionally, Matt has traveled to India where he visited the Taj Mahal and spent time learning about the third-world country. He is now looking forward to an upcoming trip to Bora Bora.
