NICOLE YOUNG
ACCOUNTANT

Nicole was initially drawn to Mengali Accountancy by her impression of the company’s values. “I really got the sense that Mengali had a great company culture that revolved around learning, curiosity, and teamwork,” Nicole affirms. Since joining the team in 2017, she confirms her initial impressions were accurate stating, “I am encouraged to ask questions, share my experiences, and Mengali does a great job at recognizing everyone’s hard work.”
Nicole originally began her accounting career while she was in high school, working for her for her parent’s local internet service providing company, Alexander Valley ISP; assisting her mom with various accounting tasks such as billing and receiving payments. In 2013, Nicole accepted a position as an Accounting Clerk at E&M Electric where, during her three years there, she advanced up to Accounts Payable Manager. Nicole received the opportunity to work as an Accountant at her family’s vineyard, Robert Young Vineyards. Curious to learn the insides of the family business, she accepted the position where she was able to offer her acquired knowledge and experience to the board. After a year-and-a-half at the vineyard, Nicole joined the Mengali team. “I was excited for all of the opportunities it would present me with and the growth that I would experience here,” she expresses.
Nicole is passionate about the collaboration that comes along with her job at Mengali Accountancy stating, “The constant learning and sharing of information is invaluable. I love learning and try to be a sponge as much as possible.”
Nicole holds an AA in Social and Behavioral Science from the Santa Rosa Junior College. She is currently working towards her BS with a focus on Business Studies in Accounting at Southern New Hampshire University. Nicole also continues to serve as a board member in training at her family’s vineyard.”
THE REAL NICOLE
Native to Sonoma County, Nicole grew up in Alexander Valley on her family’s ranch. At the
young age of 23, Nicole purchased her first home in the Larkfield-Wikiup region of Northern
Santa Rosa. Nicole’s Wikiup home both fortunately and narrowly escaped the Tubbs Fire that
ravaged through the area in October 2017.
Nicole is currently focusing on her degree so many of her weekends are dedicated to
homework. When Nicole is not working on her coursework, she enjoys going beer tasting
with friends (IPA's are her favorite!) and hiking or exploring through the redwoods. Some of
her favorite hiking spots include Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County and Armstrong Redwoods
State Natural Reserve in Guerneville. Nicole is also an Olympic weight lifting enthusiast
stating, “I started several years ago but fell out of it when I broke my ankle and I am now
trying to start back up again. I love the constant progression and results that come along
with it.”
Besides the hobbies listed above, Nicole is a huge foodie who loves trying new places
to eat. Some of her favorite cuisines include pastas and sushi.
