Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a highly motivated team player with 5+ years of highly relevant experience and thrives in a fast-paced and technology-rich environment to lead engagements, primarily for multi-family and commercial real estate clients.

 

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

 

Day to day responsibilities may be a combination of preparation or supervision and review of team members’ work as it relates to various real estate client deliverables:

 

Property Holding Portfolio Management

  • Oversight of internal team and external property management teams to insure complete, and accurate financials reporting in accordance with joint venture agreements

  • Independent review of monthly financial statements produced by third party management companies across the US, including sending adjusting entries, as needed, knowledge of GAAP and tax reporting basis is required

  • Maintenance of various supporting workpapers including property tax accruals, prepaid insurance, mortgage loan amortization, financing data, equity tracking, and other financial schedules as needed

  • Creation of monthly capital draw packages and funding requests

  • Monitor lender escrow balances including repair and replacement escrows

  • Analyze title closing statements and independently develop acquisition, disposition, and refinance calculations

  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts through corporate structure

  • Analysis of profitability for distributable cash calculations

  • Annual budgeting

  • Work with outside tax preparers and auditors on annual audits, including preparation of tax projections and tax preparation and audit workpapers

  • Review tax returns for completeness and accuracy

  • Review audit reports for completeness and accuracy

 

Real Estate Fund Management

  • Maintenance of fund financial reporting, primarily in QuickBooks

  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts through corporate structure from property level through to funds

  • Fund level analysis of investor returns

  • Fund level financial reporting

  • Monitor cash flow, cash needs, and prepare related projections

  • Investor capital call, distribution processing and tracking

  • Work with outside tax preparers and auditors on annual audits, including preparation of tax projections and tax preparation and audit workpapers

  • Review tax returns for completeness and accuracy

  • Review audit reports for completeness and accuracy

  • Coordinate wire transfers and ACH payments

  • Special Projects as requested by clients

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS, with degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the real estate investment / private equity sector

  • Multi-entity experience required

  • GAAP and tax knowledge preferred

  • Highly proficient in Excel

  • QuickBooks experience preferred

  • Self-starter with willingness to learn new software and positive attitude

  • Must be detail oriented, highly organized, and dependable

  • Active CPA license preferred, but not required
