Did you know that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of Americans? The Mengali Accountancy Team takes pride in encouraging awareness of the silent killer that affects more people each year than all types of cancer…. combined! Team members Renee Mengali, Debbie Warren, Keith Hollander, and Suzy Witherell personally participated in the 2014 North Bay Heart Walk sponsored by the American Heart Association; all walking in honor of family members who have suffered the effects of heart disease including heart attacks and strokes. The Mengali Accountancy team collectively raised $560 in donations towards the $250,000 that was raised to help fund the life-saving research and initiatives in the local community.
The annual Heart Walk took place on September 7, 2014 at Howarth Park/Spring Lake in Santa Rosa, CA and boasted over 2,000 participants. The route began at Howarth Park and spanned 5 miles, wrapping around Spring Lake.
The Heart Walk also celebrates those who have made lifestyle changes and encourages many more to take the pledge to live healthier lifestyles. Have you, friends, or loved ones been affected by heart disease or stroke? Please read these astonishing facts and help us spread the awareness:
